Seating is provided, although all guests are welcome to bring a cushion, pillow, blanket, etc. as needed. Doors open 90 minutes prior to showtime, and concessions are available at that time as well. Bijou Theatre: Rocky Horror Music Show

Category: Dance, movement, Music and Theatre

FRIDAY, OCT 4 | 8:00PM

Get ready to do the "Time Warp" again as the Rocky Horror Music Show brings the iconic songs of Rocky Horror to life like never before on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the Bijou Theater! This live music revue transforms the cult classic into a high-energy concert experience, blending the magic of the stage show with the excitement of a rock club setting. It’s a Rocky Horror tribute that long-time fans and newcomers alike can enjoy.

Featuring The Hapschatt Wedding Band, this all-star group of Asheville musicians will not only perform the hits you know and love, like “Dammit Janet” and “Time Warp,” but also dig deep into the full catalog, including rare tracks and even deleted scenes. With costumed characters performing on stage, you’ll see Riff Raff shred a guitar solo, Eddie rock the sax, and Dr. Scott tickle the piano keys—all while Brad defends Janet's honor from behind the drums.

For Rocky Horror veterans, the live show promises to impress with its attention to musical detail. For newbies, don’t worry—snippets of the movie dialogue and on-stage narration will guide you through the storyline between songs, making it easy to follow along. And, of course, audience participation is encouraged, so come ready to sing along and get into the spirit of this cult classic!

Jubilee Community Arts: Chatham Rabbits

Category: Music

Jubilee Community Arts presents Chatham Rabbits at the Laurel Theater on Friday, October 4 at 8 pm

This North Carolina based duo is currently finishing their fourth full length album and enjoying the afterglow of the successful nationwide syndication of their PBS series, “On the Road with Chatham Rabbits.” They take their name from early 20th Century string bands that paid homage to the rabbit industry in their former Bynam, Chatham Co, home.

Sarah Osborne McCombie grew up in the piedmont of North Carolina. At age 18, her voice landed her onstage at Prissy Polly's BBQ with her favorite band, the iconic old-time trio The South Carolina Broadcasters. As banjo player and vocalist for the band, Sarah played countless concerts all the while earning her degree from Peace College in Raleigh, NC.

Austin McCombie's relatives in Southwest Virginia played bluegrass and his parents in Wilmington, NC immersed him in 90s country classics and beach music standards. Somewhere in the middle, he found the name for his favorite sound: old-time. Austin spent a fair amount of time on the dark side, playing guitar and keys in his super band DASH.
